This species is very often called Miltonia whereas its official name is Miltoniopsis. Miltoniopsis originates from the Andes Mountains in Colombia. The common name is also Pansy-orchid. Miltonia is a very decorative plant that will flower twice a year when looked after well. Never put the plant in full sun (as with all Orchids), keep it moist but not to wet and avoid high temperatures. Keep away from draughts and provide plenty of light. Miltoniopsis likes to be sprinkled now and then. Miltonia flowers for a long time and is available throughout the year, but in bigger quantities in the period May-July.
